We are currently seeking: HR Manager

Phyllis Court Club is a lively and busy country house Private Members Club on the banks of the River Thames in Henley. We offer first class dining, accommodation, social and sporting facilities for over 3000 members.

This is an exciting time for Phyllis Court Club with the opening of The Fitness Centre and the replacement of the IT Management System this year. Due to continued expansion, Phyllis Court Members Club are looking for a HR Manager to manage and co-ordinate the HR function activity ensuring that all HR processes are effective and recorded in the appropriate way. We are looking for an experienced professional to provide guidance and support to the Committees, Senior Management Team, Line Managers and Supervisors with the management and development of their teams.

The successful applicant will support change ensuring processes are communicated effectively and are embedded into the organisation and continuous improvement activity is in place to identify opportunities.

Major objectives of this role are to plan and manage the successful implementation of a computerised HR system that links to the payroll software and shape & develop a clear people strategy that feeds into the Club’s overall business strategy.

The Person

To be considered for this role you must have at least 5 years proven work experience in a similar role and be CIPD qualified.

  • Previous involvement in strategic planning
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law
  • Measuring and analysing HR metrics
  • Developing sound strategic ideas to help the organisation grow
  • Good written skills with the ability to write clear, understandable plans
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
  • Ability to inspire and motivate all members of the Club staff.
  • Experience in implementing HR systems, policies and procedures within an F&B or Health & Fitness environment.
  • A track record of developing People Strategy and Practices in another organisation
  • A proven track record in meeting targets within a high-performance environment
  • Qualified and experienced HR professional who is prepared to be hands on whilst retaining a wider perspective on the business
