Senior Manager Employee and Industrial Relations - Shore Based - Southampton

The People Services team is a critical area of the overall People function accountable for providing exceptional end to end employee and crew lifecycle services underpinned by a strong service management and customer service ethic

The role

The role of Senior Manager, Employee and Industrial Relations is responsible for leading our Employee Relations and Occupational Health Team along with managing our Industrial Relations activities and relationships.  The role will work across both our shoreside operations at Carnival House where we employ over 1300 people and across our fleets for both P&O Cruises and Cunard where we employ over 50 nationalities from across the world!

Some of the key duties that the team perform include:

  • The provision of skilled, qualified, pragmatic, commercially focused and timely employee relations advice and assistance to line managers;
  • Managing employment risk and employment related litigation;
  • The provision of employment related advice to business leaders on issues that include redundancy, TUPE, restructure and employment tribunals;
  • The relationship with our trade unions and providing advice to managers on industrial relations related issues including consultation, pay negotiations and employee communication strategies.

 

About you

The successful candidate should have proven and demonstrable experience with employee relations with sound knowledge of UK employment law.  This experience should be broad and gained from dealing with a large range of operational employee relations issues.

A strong and credible leadership style, the ability to deliver through others with a pro-active attitude along with the capability to implement solutions that are pragmatic and business focused.  We are seeking a professional who actively embraces change, can work in partnership across multiple departments and strives for continuous improvement.

You'll be based at our Southampton HQ, with some travel to the ships when required.
