Project Manager - Shore Based - Southampton

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly capable Project Manager to join the Technology department at Carnival UK.

The Role

The project manager will be responsible for shaping, defining, managing and delivering a coherent set of activities to deliver the agreed project scope, on time and within budget.

The projects range from Infrastructure, Security to Software solution implementation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement effective governance and control to ensure informed decision making and effective delivery.

  • Clearly define, document and deliver the project objectives.

  • Build appropriate and effective business relationships within Technology space and across the wider business.

  • Maintain regular contact with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Maintain regular contact with vendors and 3rd party suppliers.

  • Identify and secure the appropriate level and capability of resources required to deliver the project.

  • Define the required investment to deliver the project.

  • Manage the costs of the project within the approved budget and tolerance levels, in accordance with CUK standards.

  • Developing and managing project plans and the critical path.

  • Actively managing and escalating risks and issues, including maintenance of the RAID log.

  • Implementing and managing the required governance standards and steering committees to control the project and ensure effective delivery.

  • Contribute to shaping and delivery of team objectives.

 

Experience Required:

  • End to end project delivery in an IT and/or business change environment.

  • Fully familiar with industry standard project management techniques and their application in a real project environment.

  • Background with wide range, breadth & depth of projects.

  • Experience with delivering global projects and managing remote project teams.

  • Identifies goals / objectives and motivates others towards their achievement.

  • Experience of developing project plans, tracking progress and managing risks and issues.

  • Writes and presents documents which are compelling and unambiguous.

  • Confidently conveys complex messages and information, concerning progress, problems and their solutions.

  • Demonstrates the ability to engage and communicate persuasively with a broad range of stakeholders, up to and including board level.

 

Education, Qualifications and Training Requirements:

  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP)
