Part Time (10 hours)

Monday - Friday 16:30 - 18:30

Salary: £4,071.60 Per Annum

Job Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to undertake a range of pre-planned and reactive cleaning and housekeeping tasks in accordance with the SMS Contract.  The role may require operating at other SMS sites.

 Main Responsibilities:

• Accountable for high service delivery across the campus and associated sites to client requirements which may vary.
• To manage the housekeeping in their designated areas
• To work as part of a team under the directions of the Cleaning Supervisor/Building Services Manager to deliver high quality housekeeping and cleaning services.
• To comply with the Serco policies on Health and Safety, COSHH and other statutory legislation
• Carry out cleaning procedures that incorporates all quality standards laid down by the client, Serco and environmental audits.
• Ensure that the Basic, normal prestige and Hygiene levels of housekeeping are met or exceeded at all times.
• Complete the housekeeping and cleaning work methods in line with agreed standards.
• Ensure all waste management including the emptying, disposal and replacement of domestic waste containers meets all requirements.
• Participate as full member of the wider team supporting colleagues and working flexibly to cover other members of the team
• Reporting on the facilities general condition and repair in terms of maintenance reporting and hazard spotting.
• Cooperate fully with audit findings in relation to Serco.
• Undertake other ad hoc duties, such as litter picking, as prescribed by Manager and within scope of skill and capability.

Skills/Experience:

• BICS level 1 or equivalent (Preferred)
• Health and safety trained (Preferred)
• Previous experience in working within a busy high performance cleaning delivery environment (Preferred)
• Be able to work well under pressure and also, to be confident and able to work using own initiative.
• Must be confident lone working, as this may be the case when covering some sites
• Possession of a driving licence is preferable but not essential
