We are now on the look out for a talented and experienced individual to join our Revenue team in the capacity of a Reservations Sales Agent.

THE AMPERSAND HOTEL.......With some of the most stylish hotel rooms in Kensington, The Ampersand is a privately-owned luxury London hotel that combines contemporary excellence in design, service, food and technology in an 1888 building at the capital's heart. We have been inspired by those great Victorian values of discovery and wonder - and given them a modern, whimsical twist. The result: a cosmopolitan, 111-room luxury boutique hotel, bar, restaurant and drawing rooms, delivering 21st-century warmth, humour and total comfort. The Ampersand Hotel is situated just a minute's walk from South Kensington tube station, and is well connected to Heathrow airport.

Your role as Reservations Sales Agent will come with the following responsibilities:

  • To provide professional and friendly service to all patrons, whilst maximising business outcomes. To assist the Revenue Manager in the service of Reservations.
  • Keep abreast of all product knowledge, ranging from daily functions, services and facilities available, and marketing and promotional activities.
  • Projecting a favourable image of the hotel, through a positive and professional attitude and manner
  • Maintaining positive relationships with Guests and Colleagues by meeting and exceeding their expectations.
  • Answer all phone calls within three rings, using the Company greeting standards.
  • Respond to queries received by all forms of media within a 24 hour time frame.
  • Ensure Guest details remain confidential.
  • Ensure contracted and negotiated rates remain confidential, only being disclosed to the rightful personnel.
  • Arrange and follow up any special requests and VIP bookings.
  • Maintain the Opera database with up to date and correct information regarding profiles
  • Maintain the Reservations filing system, ensuring all correspondence is filed correctly and effectively.
  • Ensure a neat and tidy workspace.
  • Brief the Front Office team on all group movements, reservations and special requests
  • Ensure Arrivals check for the next day are completed accurately on a daily basis and for the weekend on a Friday
  • Cross-sell and assist where required with the Hotels sister property (Vintry & Mercer)
  • To be flexible to carry out other duties and assignments as requested by the Revenue Manager and other Senior Management

Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Previous experience as a Reservations Sales Agent or in a similar role gained in a 4/5* environment is ideal
  • Strong experience of Opera
  • Professional & customer focused
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Able to work within a team and on own initiative
  • Takes ownership for his/her work
