Our Environmental Services business has seen extraordinary nationwide growth over the last few years, and we're looking for a dedicated Grounds Person with specific experience of working on sports facilities to help us continue to deliver a first-class service.

In the role of Grounds Person will are looking for this person to work full time, which is 39 Hours a week.

You will be responsible for the maintenance of council owned sports facilities across Woking including football pitches for example.

In the role you will be expected to carry out the following:

  • To lead and deliver on a set programme works as part of the maintenance team.
  • To understand contract requirements, the specification of all works, the facilities within the location and the varying conditions within the facility.
  • To identify and understand key performance indicators and ensure that these are met.
  • To regularly report to line manager progress on works and any matters which arise affecting delivery.
  • To work as part of the team, putting forward suggestions and ideas for improvements in service provision.
  • Responsible for the daily inspection and reporting procedure for machinery, prior and on completion of usage, including vehicles.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
  • To ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are met.
  • To undergo specific training to improve skill levels and knowledge of Contract requirements as and when defined training is identified as being required or available.
  • To maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly members of the public and stake holders.

Ideally you will have previous experience working in a Sports Maintenance environment mainly Football and Cricket.  The ideal candidate would hold the following qualifications, NVQ level 2 in Sports Maintenance or equivalent. PA1, PA6 Spraying licences.

You will require a UK driving licence for this role as you will be driving equipment in this role.
