Domestic Assistant - Wishaw General Hospital

Type: Type: 20 Hours Monday to Friday 20 Hours and 10 Hours Weekend Only

£17,110.00 Pro-Rata

The department is repsonsible for the maintaining of a clean and healthy, safe and caring environment for patients, visitors and staff. Wishaw General Hosptial has 663 beds based on one site of approximately 67,000sqm.

Job Purpose:

To provide a high quality domestic cleaning service to patients, staff and visitor at Wishaw General Hospital. The department maintain standards of cleanliness in allocated areas

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

• Delivery of cleaning and customer services to an agreed standard as defined in the service level specification within ward, departments and non-clinical areas to ensure customer satisfaction
• Complying with the NHSL and Serco policies on Healthy & Safety, COSHH and other statutory legislation
• Clean to a hygienic standard following maintenance wok (agreed jointly with NHSL/Serco) that incorporate all quality standards laid down by the client or Serco and Environmental audits
• Empty, dispose and replace domestic waste as directed and ensure that waste is disposed of correctly in line with NHSL's Infection control manual
• Participate as a full member of the wider team supporting colleagues and working felxibly to cover other members of the team
• Reporting on the facilities general condition and repair in terms of maintenance reporting and hazard spotting
• Co operate fully with audit findings in relation to NHSL or Serco Performance audits in agreed priority timescales

Knowlegde and Experience:

• Good communication skills while dealing with colleagues, patients, visitors and other staff members
• Flexible attitude to working times and methods
• Customer focused
• Requires a good working knowledge of Seco and NHSL working practices and procedures whilst adhering to Health and Saferty requirements
