Health Club Receptionist - Stamford Bridge

DEPARTMENT: Front of House

REPORTING TO: Operations Manager

JOB FUNCTION: To welcome and assist members and visitors at the Front of House.

LOCATION: Chelsea Health Club & Spa Main Reception and Antara Spa Reception.

CONTRACT: Part-time 32 hours, permanent. Please note shifts can start as early as 5:30AM and late finish shifts close at 10PM

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (Play Your Part):

  • To deliver the highest standards of service and ensure the smooth running of Reception at The Chelsea Health Club & Spa: Main reception & Antara Spa reception as required.
  • Meet and greet all members and guests in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Deal with all levels of customers face to face, on the telephone and via email.
  • To give and receive accurate shift handovers.
  • To deal with member queries or feedback promptly.
  • To be aware of all facilities, products and services operating within the club.
  • Able to provide and perform following tasks: Using booking systems, take payments, pass on messages, update member information, end of day cashing up.
  • Able to open and close the club at required hours and to take on 'duty supervisor' DS shifts where required.
  • Adhere to all departmental Standard Operating Procedures SOPs
  • Able to, or work towards, assisting disabled guests, First Aid incidents and emergency evacuations.
  • To conduct prospective membership tours, signing up new members and following up membership enquiries.
  • Maintaining and updating various administrative record keeping systems for the health club and spa.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks and assist the Operations Manager when needed.
  • Assist with reception cover when needed e.g. last-minute sickness cover, holiday cover.

  • The receptionist role at the Chelsea Health Club & Spa plays a key, measurable role in the growth in number and retention of members and in repeat business.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications:Essential

  • Valid working visa for the UK.
  • Excellent communicator, verbal and written, in English.
  • Customer service training.Desirable
  • Completed high school certificate or equivalent and above.
  • GCSE Mathematics and English Language or equivalent.

Experience:Essential

  • Previous experience in a customer focused industry, preferably on reception.

  • A commitment to excellent customer service.

  • Pleasant, mature and positive attitude, punctual and excellent grooming standards.

  • High level of discretion is essential.

  • Able to work shifts including weekends, early morning and evenings as per club opening hours.

  • Competent in the use of MS Office MS Word and MS Excel, databases and booking systems.Desirable

  • To be familiar with Health & Safety procedures

  • Ability to promote a good company image.
