Position Summary   

As the Night Manager at St Pancras Renaissance you will operate as the hotel Manager on Duty at night and oversees all hotel operations, ensuring that the highest levels of hospitality and service are provided. Represents hotel management overnight in resolving any guest or hotel related situation. Manages the flow of questions and directs guests within the lobby. Serves as Night Manager and handles the tracking of service issues. Deal with all guest requests to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are met in order to meet guest satisfaction targets.                                                               

You'll need to know your stuff:

  • Extensive knowledge of all hotel departments and their functions and responsibilities
  • Effective decision making skills Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to acquire and maintain relationships e.g., associates, customers, vendors
  • Financial management skills e.g., ability to understand P&L statements, budgets, forecasting and scheduling hotel rates, daily selling strategy, discounts and how to handle reservation queries
  • Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a continuing relationship and loyalty to Marriott
  • Ensure the accuracy and completion of all folios, room changes and credit approval
  • To ensure a quick, efficient and friendly check in and departure of all guests. Ensuring that their details are entered onto the computer correctly and efficiently to the Brand Standards
  • Assign rooms, accommodating special requests whenever possible
  • To understand the correct reservation procedures and to take any reservations if required Comply with unit cash handling and credit policies and procedures
  • To understand the banking and change order procedure
  • Responsible for all payment transactions on the shift and to report any discrepancies
  • Complete daily checklist tasks
  • Provide information to guests about outlets, staff and services, including hours of operation, room locations, types of room and room rates
  • Comply with the room selling strategies, cancellation procedures and walk procedures
  • To be able to operate the switchboard and deal with messages and enquiries when required, in an efficient and professional manner
  • To communicate with housekeeping as to the daily allocation of rooms
  • To be fully aware of the Accident Reporting Procedure, Maintenance Fault Procedure and Fire Policy

  • You are also expected to carry out other duties that may be required to ensure the overall hotel operation is properly maintained to provide a total guest experience.
