Maintenance Manager - Ashford, Kent

Eastwell Manor is a luxury Spa Hotel set in the picture-perfect countryside in Kent, the heart of the Garden of England. We boast 75 bedrooms including Shepherds Huts, our luxurious spa incorporates 21 treatment rooms, a 3000 square foot gym and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. We are well regarded for our stunning traditional afternoon tea. In addition to this our venue offers our guests the ability to have their own fairy tale wedding. We also have an award-winning restaurant, (why award-winning-how many covers etc). We’re found in the middle of 65 acres of pristine countryside, a 10 minute taxi from Ashford international train station and minutes from the Ashford / Kennington bus routes. Onsite accommodation is available for short or long term use if relocation is required.

The Maintenance Manager has overall responsibility for the internal and external maintenance of all buildings and engineering services across the resort in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner, ensuring a high standard of appearance and smooth running for the enjoyment and comfort of Champneys’ guests.

The role is a blend of office and on-tool based working, in approximately a 50/50 split.

Some duties and responsibilities include;

  • Liaise daily with all departments and deal appropriately with any maintenance issues raised, giving priority to those issues which compromise Health & Safety or security.
  • Liaise productively with contractors and suppliers to ensure the most cost-effective outcomes for the business.
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure that Permits to Work are completed in compliance with Company Health & Safety procedures. Act as Clerk of Works to regulate work carried out by contractors.
  • Carry out work on ad hoc projects using your skills and knowledge to ensure the most efficient and effective outcome for the hotel.
  • Use, operate and store all tools, equipment and materials safely and securely to comply with statutory regulations e.g., COSHH
  • Respond to call outs in line with rota and department standard practice.
