Assistant Head Gardener - Forest Row, East Sussex

Working within 186 acres, the Assistant Head Gardener will assist the Estates Manager and other members of the team in ensuring that the estate is maintained to the highest standard with regard to presentation and safety. The Assistant Head Gardener will deputise for the Estates Manager in his absence and offers a varied range of duties including planting out, nursery work, garden maintenance, grass cutting and garden restoration work. This position provides the opportunity to work within a range of outdoor spaces that includes parkland, a walled garden, and an 18 hole par 3 golf course. 

Attributes & Experience

• Candidates should be able to demonstrate previous experience of garden maintenance and a passion for horticulture.
• Should be flexible, and a co-operative individual ready to work in a team environment.
• Must enjoy outdoor working.
