Maintenance Manager, Express by Holiday Inn, Leeds
Can you fix it!? We are looking for a proactive, positive individual to provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment for all customers, staff & visitors to our Holiday Inn, Leeds East. This role may also support the general maintenance of our Holiday Inn York East branch as and when needed.
Working alongside the Hotel team you will play a key part in ensuring basic maintenance and repair tasks are carried out and may assist the contractors to ensure all work undertaken is safe and the hotel is constantly planning and working towards being risk free.
Please note: the ideal candidate should be a driver, and be able to manage general maintenance duties, alongside the admin aspects of this position. The role will heavily involve aspects of compliance, and admin, therefore the ideal candidate will need to be computer-literate.

Our hotel is a quiet, quaint hotel set just outside the village of Oulton, 4 miles from Leeds City Centre. Your role in our family:
As a Maintenance Manager, key to your role is to:
- Liaise with Hotel Management/Housekeeping Team and staff to carry out required painting, redecoration and general maintenance duties.
- Determine the most cost effective approach to achieving a durable and quality decorative finish.
- Carry out preparation/repair/application of finishing products as necessary.
- Undertake both responsive and planned maintenance of painting and decoration
- Carry out a maintenance, repair and installation work
- Execute workmanship using own initiative, to a high standard and ensure it is carried out in strict compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, and any other relevant legislation covering safety in the workplace for self and others.
- Carry out inspections of occupied and empty rooms to determine the extent of painting, decoration and general maintenance required. Having established the need, carry out the most cost effective and expedient means of completing the works. This will be achieved through efficient preparation/repair/ application of decorative products and general maintenance activities.
- Carry out all necessary administrative work associated with departmental management requirements accurately and timely record all processes from receiving jobs through to completion including invoice pre-processing.
- Monitoring monthly reports and keeping all up to date
- Monitoring and reporting weekly/monthly H&S tasks on Health and Safety Portal
- Good level of physical fitness, including the ability to lift, work at heights and in differing conditions.
- To undertake all training as required (e.g. first aid, health and safety, customer service).
