POSITION: Full time with benefits

JOB SUMMARY

As Sales & Reservations Manager, you are a key member of the Goods Way management team and overall Commercial Department. By working closely with colleagues from all departments, you develop an in-depth understanding of the business and its customers and leverage this knowledge to effectively implement a multi-faceted sales and delivery strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with all key clients, generating new business and maintaining inbound business in line with targets set by the General Manager and Commercial Director.
  • Identify and develop relationships with local businesses and communities to identify new business opportunities.
  • Deliver maximum revenues from all new events and negotiate long term contracts in line with agreed targets.
  • Generate additional income through upselling the facilities of the venue and driving ancillary spend to maintain and where possible, increase the overall profitability of each specific event type.
  • Attend trade fairs and networking events to develop and maintain relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • In conjunction with the Goods Way and wider Commercial team identify all potential clients for the TVG portfolio especially those with long term repeat business.
  • Enhance and maintain the profile of Goods Way and wider TVG portfolio within the industry.
  • Maintain awareness of Market trends and competitive elements within the industry, including other venues and potential clients.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining effective team work within departments and venues.
  • Provide and promote the highest level of end to end customer service
  • Continuously seek ways to improve personal, team and business performance
  • Ensure that all relevant information is communicated speedily and accurately in a way that ensures that the information is received and easily understood
  • Undertake any other relevant duties or reasonable requests as requested by the Commercial Director and any member of the senior leadership team
  • Manage individual event P & Ls tracking spend across departments and reconciling figures post event with your finance partner to share with the General Managers and Commercial Director
  • Manage account and diary diligently via Event Booking System in order to identify and maximise opportunities for event sales.
  • Manage reservations systems and processes and seek to optimise UX and opportunities for customer acquisition and upselling.
  • Own and Develop the Event Booking System.
  • Work alongside the programming team to identify gaps in the calendar for private hire and corporate events.
  • Work closely with colleagues from the on-site management team to manage private and corporate events from opportunity identification through to delivery.
  • Manage listings with third party agencies ensuring all information is relevant and up to date.
  • Work in partnership with Marketing and Commercial teams to maximise the profitability of all content across the TVG portfolio.
  • Work alongside the venue and operations teams to ensure the efficient hand over of events.

Requirements

  • Experience of programming, promoting and booking a range of special events in a venue environment.
  • A proven track record of delivering profitable events.
  • Basic level contract development and contract management.
  • Ability to confidently deliver to a high standard of oral communication both within and outside of the organisation.
  • Effective networker and good at establishing rapport with industry and colleagues alike.
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
  • Event Management / Sales Degree or equivalent years’ experience.
