Assistant Reservations Manager - Relocation Opportunity - Braemar, Scotland

The Fife Arms Hotel is recruiting an experienced Assistant Reservations Manager to join the team! Located in the village of Braemar in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, The Fife Arms has recently been awarded Conde Naste Readers' Choice Best Hotel - UK, as well as the prestigious 2 Michelin Keys, and Aberdeen City & Shire's Hospitality Employer of the Year.

 

 

Providing support to the Reservations & Revenue Manager and the Reservations Team, this role is pivotal to deliver the utmost quality of service, exceeding the expectation of our guest experience in every aspect of their stay. Our aim is that guests leave us feeling enriched and engaged in our ethos as well as meeting our sales targets. You'll be surrounded by a team with a creative flair and a passion for brilliant service with a desire to learn and grow.

As Assistant Reservations Manager, you will be responsible for:

Assisting the Reservations & Revenue Manager to control rates and inventory.

  • Assisting the Reservations & Revenue Manager to ensure all rates are loaded in the GDS and Opera Cloud system for ease of reservations.
  • Checking regularly and sharing information on the market situation including weekly checks and report on booking trends in the market.
  • Assisting the Reservations & Revenue Manager to supervise the Reservationists in their daily duties, including pick-up reports, travel agents' commissions, team member responses to guests, etc.
  • Training, developing, and motivating the Reservations team to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Actively contributing to achieve the room revenue and overall revenue targets of the hotel.
  • Contributing with creative ideas and professional input to surpass the targets set by the hotel budget and performance standard measurement tool.

Our successful Assistant Reservations Manager will have:

  • Previous experience with Opera Cloud (7Rooms & Harri are desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent written and spoken English - additional languages are an advantage.
  • Proven experience from within a similar luxury 5-star hospitality environment.
  • Initiative, emotional intelligence, strong communication, and organisation skills.
  • Experience in training, coaching and mentoring others.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • A passion and ambition to deliver exceptional experiences.
