Rides Area Manager - Stoke-on-Trent

We are the Alton Towers Resort and we are part of the magical Merlin Entertainments!

The Alton Towers Resort is the UK's only attraction that specialises in making Britain happy!  Our team members are the driving force in ensuring we provide excellent guest service, making sure we exceed our guests expectations.

About the role

We're currently on the lookout for an experienced people manager and leader to join one of the most exciting companies and definitely one of the more "different" jobs you could ever do.  However, it's not a walk in the park!

You'll help us to deliver the highest standards in everything we do as far as customer service and health and safety within our Park Operations Department.  As well as motivating your team through briefings, personal coaching and regular performance reviews, you'll keep a close eye on the efficiency of the department and continually seek to improve the guest experience.  We'll expect you to put forward ideas that increase profits, reduce costs and be able to demonstrate evidence of doing this before.  As part of one of the biggest Merlin teams in the world and with excellent opportunities for personal growth this really is an exciting role.

About you

You'll be leading a team of employees within the Park Operations Department meaning you could be responsible for a multi million pound rollercoaster however, experience in running a rollercoaster is not necessary (or expected!).  We'll train you in the required health and safety regulations - the key thing we need from you is an ability to plan ahead as well as think on your feet when necessary.  An inspiring leader, you'll need a head for heights, literally and in the career sense.  You'll be at the hub of all activity at Alton Towers Resort and as such be the sort of person who can work very well under pressure, as well as in all weathers.  Manpower planning and rota management will be part and parcel of the job in hand - equally important however is boundless energy, enthusiasm and passion for delivering the best memorable experiences to our guests.

About the benefits

Working for Merlin Entertainments means that you can take full advantage of an excellent package.  Being part of the wider Group means there will always be further opportunities to grow, develop and try new things with full and continuous support along the way.  As you would expect we offer an excellent package of benefits including:
