Parkside Pools & Gym in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire is looking for a Facilities Assistant to ensure the maintenance, cleanliness, upkeep and safety of the premises and its contents, ranging from a state of the art gym and lagoon swimming pool with wave machine to dance and cycle studios and sports and activity halls. This role sits in the facilities management team working with the Area Facilities Manager and the Facilities Supervisor.

As a Facilities Assistant, you'll be able to work as part of a team as well as on your own, and have a good a good eye for detail as you'll carry out visual checks of all facilities to identify upkeep, safety and repair issues. With an understanding of health and safety regulations, you'll ensure the safety and convenience of staff and customers by implementing repairs when necessary, with minimal disruption. You'll review internal and external paperwork ensuring all equipment and supplies are controlled and recorded.

You'll have previous maintenance and pool plant experience, including a Pool Plant Operators certificate. Other technical qualifications such as building, plumbing, gardening and decorating would be desirable. Good communication skills and computer literacy are a must in this role as you'll meet with external contractors to carry out repairs and work with dedicated IT facility management applications.
