We have an opportunity for a Deputy General Manager to join the team at Rhinefield House Hotel – part of the Hand Picked Hotels collection.

What does the role involve?

As Deputy General Manager of this 50 bedroom AA Red Star Hotel you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day to day running of all Hotel operations through the interpretation of the Hand Picked Hotels vision. 

You will effectively manage all Heads of Department with direct line management responsibility for the Restaurant Manager, Conference & Banqueting Manager, Head Housekeeper, Spa Manager and Reception Manager. You will also offer peer support to the Executive Head Chef, Maintenance Manager and Sales & Revenue Manager. In this role you will also take responsibility for the Staff Accommodation provision on site with support from the Maintenance Manager.

You must be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills alongside attention to detail and good operations management experience.

Competencies of a Deputy General Manager:

We are looking for someone with excellent people skills who is hardworking, committed, organised, an effective time manager and is able to motivate others. To meet the challenge of this role you will have:

* 2 years’ experience working in an Operations Manager role or as a Deputy General Manager
* Strong commercial acumen
* Experience of Health & Safety management systems and audits and up to date knowledge of statutory obligations
* A proven track record in excellent service delivery, team engagement and achieving goals and objectives
